About DY Patil University
DY Patil University, a deemed-to-be university, derives its name from its visionary founder, Dr. Dnyandeo Yashwantrao Patil, a Padmashree awardee renowned for his philanthropy and dedication to social service. Dr. Patil envisioned delivering quality education to aspiring youth in fields like engineering and medicine. The university is accredited with an "A" grade by NAAC, approved by UGC, ISO-certified, and its medical sciences institution holds prestigious accreditations from NABH and NABL. It ranked 72nd in the NIRF 2021 university category. Medical courses are recognized by MCI, the dental degree is approved by DCI, and other programs have approvals from BCI, PCI, INC, and CoA.
DY Patil University comprises several schools and departments, with prominent ones including Ayurveda, Architecture, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Hospitality and Tourism, Dentistry, Medicine, Law, Management, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy. Its engineering school, Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology (RAIT), offers AICTE-approved technical courses under the university's affiliation.
The School of Hospitality and Tourism Studies delivers BMEC programs, accredited by a UK-based awarding body offering management programs at UG and PG levels. The university has international partnerships with the University College of Birmingham and the American Hospitality Academy.
